In February 2013, Lazar Khidekel's works will be presented at the Moscow Proun Gallery's exhibition "The BLUE".
As the year comes to the end, we wish to thank all friends and members of the Lazar Khidekel Society, curators and art historians, sponsors and supporters who made 2011 a wonderful and rewarding year!
2012 is starting with a new solo exhibition of Lazar Khidekel, which will open on January 25, 2012 at Historic Landmark - The Leuenhof on Bahnhofstrasse 32, Zurich. This will be the third Lazar Khidekel's exhibition in Switzerland after two sensational shows in 2010 - 2011.
First solo exhibition of Lazar Khidekel in Europe "Lazar Markovich Khidekel - the Rediscovered Suprematist" from the artist's estate, was a part of the COMPLETE CONCRETE, an exhibition commemorating hundred years since the inception of constructivist art, concrete and conceptual art and its effect on the present. Curated by Dorothea Strauss, COMPLETE CONCRETE is two-installments show at Haus Konstruktiv in Zurich, August 2010 - January 2011.
Lazar Khidekel's manifesto "AERO. Articles and Projects", Vitebsk, 1920, has been included in the "timeline" which guides the public through decades from 1910 to 2010, thus forming the foundation of the presentation. "Timeline" is presented at a permanent show on the museum's ground floor, which remains unchanged for the entire five months of the exhibition COMPLETE CONCRETE run.
"Lazar Khidekel. The Rediscovered Suprematist" solo exhibition was a great success on national and European scale. Wide press coverage made Lazar Khidekel a sensation of the season (links below) We were surprised to read about the exhibition on our way to Zurich in the Swiss airline Magazine as well.
The exhibition "Полеты во сне и наяву / Flights in Dream and Reality" in conjunction with the Moscow Biennial, at Proun Gallery in Moscow took place through September 24 - December 28, 2011. A catalog including the article by Regina Khidekel Trajectory of Suprematism was published.
A documentary about work and life of Lazar Khidekel was created in St. Petersburg for channel Cultura by Elena Plugatyreva, Olga Radvilovich and Natalia Radomanova.
The Lazar Khidekel Society is deeply grateful to the New York Malevich Society for a grant supporting our work on a large-scale monograph Lazar Khidekel (1904-1986): The Suprematist Vision of the World.
The upcoming exhibition in Zurich will include the jewelry objects based on Lazar Khidekel's Suprematist images – the Khidekel Brand has been launched!
President, Lazar Khidekel Society
