Soviet and Post-Soviet Sots Art and American Pop Art at the Weisman Art Museum in Minneapolis. The exhibition ran three months and along with a book of the same name published by the University of Minnesota Press in 1998, was widely reviewed in press and art magazines. Dr. Khidekel's curatorial experience of joined exhibitions of Russian and American artists, started in 1995 with the Exhibition "5 + 5" at the Educational Alliance in Lower Manhattan, is bringing an unique prospective to the Center's program. Dr. Khidekel participated in the International Symposium at Yale University with her paper, "A creation of a New Visual World" (1997), as well as in conferences at Maryland College Park University, Fairfield University, CT, and The Judah Magnes Museum, CA. Dr. Khidekel has lectured on art history and the Russian avant-garde at Columbia University, Bryn Mawr, Parsons School of American Design, and Cooper-Hewitt Masters Program. She is also a frequent contributor to the Russian press and TV, and the ARTNews magazine in New York. In addition, Dr. Khidekel has curated a number of highly acclaimed exhibits focused on comparative studies on Russian and American art. Through this focus, Dr. Khidekel became aware of the necessity to found an organization, which would aim to integrate Russian-speaking and American communities, as well as participating artists and audiences. Thus, she started the Russian American Cultural Center (RACC) in 1998, and since then has been promoting art exhibits, literature and performance events, concerts, and intellectual forums. Dr. Khidekel also continues to foster a series of international exchange programs between Russian and Russian émigré artists in the USA, Israel, and Germany. Publications Catalogues/Books
