From Boris Dralyuk, the CP editor-in-chief:
For over a decade, the editors of the literary annual Cardinal Points have striven to bring readers the most interesting writing from the Slavic lands and their neighbors in translations that stand on their own as works of art, and to publish original work in English that reflects on and connects with the historical realities of that realm. The latest volume offers everything from new, exquisite versions of Adam Mickiewicz’s Crimean Sonnets and Anna Akhmatova’s epic Requiem, to an essay recovering the legacy of the Russian poet Anna Alekseeva, to moving stories of ethnic tension in Kazakhstan and Chechnya.
This program is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council, Cojeco and Tianaderrah Foundation.
