Michael Ferraro currently lives in Russia. His play Vera and Olga -Two Sisters by the Sea was given its first professional performance in September 2002 in the chamber-theatre of the Lensoviet Theatre, St. Petersburg, Russia, where it has received subsequent performances. It has also been performed at the Stanislavsky Building for Actors, St. Petersburg, Russia; and at the St. Petersburg, Christmas Parade Festival, 2002. The Russian production features two well-known Russian actresses: Zoa Burak and Galina Bokshesky, and was directed by award-winning director, Vladimir Zolotar.

Vera and Olga -Two Sisters by the Sea is a Romantic Tragedy, which takes place in a Northern Russian fishing village. The staged reading will be performed in English by professional American actors.

Following the reading Mr. Ferraro and Dr. Regina Khidekel, Executive Director, Russian American Cultural Center, will answer questions from the audience: Mr. Ferraro, about his work experience with Russian directors and actors. Dr. Khidekel, concerning the important role of the RACC in creating cultural exchange possibilities between the US and Russia. Mr. Ferraro will also take questions on the cultural differences of the American and Russian theatre traditions.
